Tammy Wang is a medical student at Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Originally from Queens, New York, she graduated from Vassar in 2021 with a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior. During her undergraduate years, she studied the critical role astrocytes play in cognition using a miniature fluorescent microscope, with hopes of understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of Alzheimer's disease. After graduating, she worked as a postbaccalaureate fellow at the National Institute on Drug Abuse/National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Tammy is interested in using art to transcend language barriers and advocating for first-generation and low-income students. She also enjoys creating films, building her vinyl record collection, and playing badminton.
