Sofia A. Girald Berlingeri is a 3rd-year medical student at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. She is a born and raised Puerto Rican who did her bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico. She moved to the Mainland in 2015, after graduating college, with a Cancer Research Training award as a postbaccalaureate fellow at the National Institutes of Health. After spending 3 years at the NIH, she moved to Missouri to attend medical school. She is currently interested in pursuing an OB/GYN residency. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her fiancée Jessie, her dog Mela as well as her family and friends. She also enjoys cooking, doing arts and crafts, and watching TV. Sofia is very excited to be part of Project SHORT looks forward to answering any questions and guiding students through the medical school application process.
