Shaley Albaugh is a medical student, Class of 2023, attending the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She originally grew up in a rural town in Michigan, and was raised primarily by her mother, who is an immigrant from the Philippines. She attended the University of Notre Dame on a Questbridge scholarship and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior. Before matriculating into medical school, Shaley worked a year as a clinical informatics specialist at Oak Street Health on the West Side of Chicago assisting providers with their care of an underserved, geriatric population. Shaley has experience mentoring students from disadvantaged backgrounds and is hoping to eventually pursue a career in academia where she can continue to mentor and guide disadvantaged students. In her free time, she can be found tending to her many tropical plants, convincing her fiancée and friends to eat sushi with her, and playing or running with her dog, Cubbie.
