Rythika Francis grew up in the vibrant immigrant community that is Flushing, New York. She left her city to attend Cornell University and study nutritional sciences. During a college summer internship in Brooklyn she implemented a youth nutrition curriculum and realized she belonged back in the city for medical school. After graduating in 2019, she worked as a medical assistant for a year and is currently pursing an MD at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. She is extremely passionate about working in underserved urban communities around the city. She is especially interested in reproductive and sexual health inequities. Her other hobbies include cooking, running, and exploring the city by foot.
