Richard is an incoming MD-PhD student at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Richard grew up in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After graduating in 2019, Richard joined the NHGRI in Bethesda, Maryland as an NIH postbaccalaureate research fellow where he investigated GBA1-associated Parkinson's disease by developing CRISPR-engineered, iPSC-derived dopaminergic neuronal models. Richard's research interests include neurodegenerative diseases, stem cell biology, and tissue engineering. Outside of research, Richard loves basketball, biking, and tinkering with electronics. Richard is excited to support applicants in applying to MD-PhD programs.
