Nikita Sajeev is a medical student at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine (Class of 2027). She grew up in Portland, Oregon, and later moved to Philadelphia for college. Nikita graduated from Temple University in 2022 with a BS in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish. During undergrad, she founded and led Temple’s chapter of an undergraduate neuroscience publication called Grey Matters Journal, for which she was awarded Temple's Diamond Award, the highest recognition by Student Affairs. Additionally, she pursued mentorship and educational interests as a Big with Temple Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as through her roles as a neuroscience TA and STEM tutor. After undergrad, she worked in translational neuroscience research at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, California, funded by the SENS research foundation’s post-baccalaureate research fellowship. She now attends WashU on a merit scholarship, where she continues to follow her interests in research and mentorship, with an eventual goal of a career in academic medicine. Nikita recognizes that mentorship has played a key role in her journey thus far, and she is committed to supporting others in the same way she has been supported by her mentors. When she's not doing med-school-related things, you can find her at spin class, yoga class, playing pickleball, or strolling through Forest Park.
