Matt is a third-year MD-PhD student at Mayo Clinic’s joint program in Scottsdale and Phoenix Arizona. He grew up in Fremont, California and graduated with a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology (Neurobiology), from UC Berkeley in 2020 and conducted nuclear engineering research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for three years. Matt is doing his PhD in Neuroscience where he is characterizing the radiological features of glioblastoma, a deadly brain cancer, focusing on using magnetic resonance imaging and computational approaches such as graph network analysis, machine learning, and bioinformatics. He hopes to become a neuroradiologist with both clinical and research focuses, but also has a deep interest in psychiatry and mental health. Matt enjoys soccer, powerlifting, food, long walks, and hanging out with his cat during his free time.
