Kacie Hoyt is a M2 (Class of 2024) at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia. Kacie completed her BS in Biology at Xavier University in 2015. Following graduation, Kacie completed her MSc in Epidemiology at Boston University in 2017 with a concentration in infectious diseases, and specific research interest in tuberculosis. She then worked for 4 years at Boston Children's Hospital as a research coordinator/technician in the Immunology Department where her research focused on the role of regulatory T cells in immune pathogenesis (specifically in juvenile arthritis and multiple autoimmune & immunodeficiency conditions). In her free time Kacie enjoys cooking and doing anything near the water especially loves sailing.
