Intrigued by the reciprocal relationship between medicine and research, Elizabeth is an MD/PhD student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center interested in using research to answer clinically relevant questions and improve standards of patient care. Elizabeth's background is described as rural, low-income, and non-traditional. She took several "gap years" between completing her undergraduate degrees (BSc. & BA awarded in 2019), dabbling in agricultural research (2019-2021), working in clinical oncology/hematology (2021-2024), and completing a graduate degree in cancer immunology/biology (MSc awarded in 2024) before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. She is confident in her ability to help you navigate your MD, DO, and physician-scientist (MD/PhD or DO/PhD) applications to institutions using the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) and American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS), in addition to the Fee Assistance Programs for both of these application services.
