Zihua Ye is a PhD student at the University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign in the Developmental program concentrating in Developmental Psychopathology. She previously earned a B.A. from Rice University in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences and a M.A. from the University of Chicago. Broadly, she is interested in studying potential mechanisms linking early life stress and the emergence of gender differences in psychopathology. She has a specific interest in examining how parental and environmental protective and risk factors interface with individual differences in neural and emotional development to affect risk for developing depression among at-risk adolescent girls. She is always passionate about mentorship and would love to help marginalized and disadvantaged applicants to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
