Zack (he/him) is a third-year PhD candidate at MIT in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department. He is interested in computer security and applied cryptography. Specifically: which fancy modern cryptographic tricks can help keep systems safe and data private, and which are too slow (for now)? Before graduate school, he earned a B.A. in Computer Science from Columbia University and worked as a software engineer at Google for a few years. Away from the computer, he enjoys bicycles, public transit, music with yelling, and vegetables.
