Yanzi is a first-year social psychology PhD student at the University of Delaware. She received her B.S. in Applied Psychology with First-Class Honor from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2018 and her M.A. in General Psychology from New York University in 2020. She then worked as a lab manager/research assistant at Purdue University for two years before starting her PhD training. She is interested in 1) how top-down influences (e.g., stereotypes, attitudes) shape group-based social perceptions and 2) how biased social perceptions contribute to discrimination, inequality, and injustice. Outside of research, Yanzi spends her time working out at the gym, cooking, and watching TV shows.
