Ya'el is a second year PhD student in Harvard's Program in Neuroscience interested in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, and the intersection of the two in the Choroid Plexus: a tissue that produces and regulates cerebrospinal fluid. She performed her undergraduate studies at Kent State University in northeast Ohio, earning dual degrees in cellular and molecular biology and psychology. During undergraduate summers, she performed research as a BP-ENDURE scholar at Washington University in St. Louis and at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. As a former foster child who didn't graduate from high school, Ya'el is passionate about helping others navigate the difficult landscape of graduate school admissions and successfully pursue their dreams. She is active in science communication and science writing communities, and hopes to serve as an accurate liaison between science, politics, and the public.
