Vivian Chu is a first year PhD student in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. She obtained her BSc in Biology, Molecular Genetics/Bioinformatics from the University of Waterloo in 2022. For her doctoral studies, she hopes to combine her computational/bioinformatics and experimental experience to investigate cancer etiology and potential therapies through combining multi-omic data and artificial intelligence. She is motivated by the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration, improving clinical outcomes for patients and using the exponential potential of computing power to solve challenges in human disease. Outside of the lab, you can find Vivian hiking, taking photos and camping.
