Vincent graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Neuroscience. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Yale University. As an undergraduate researcher investigating the neurodegenerative mechanisms of multiple sclerosis, Vincent developed an interest in the role of glial cells in health and disease. Through his particular interest in astrocytes, Vincent has conducted research abroad at Peking University where he studied astrocyte biology in traumatic brain injury models. Vincent then pursued postgraduate research at UCSF to investigate how astrocytes regulate neural circuits underlying distinct cortical states. Vincent aims to continue research on astrocytes and other glia to understand their functions in nervous system diseases. Outside of the lab, you can catch Vincent enjoying the outdoors or jamming out to some popular tunes on the guitar.
