Victoria is a 3rd year PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Daniel Portnoy at the University of California at Berkeley in the Molecular and Cell Biology program. She studies the mechanism of dissemination of the foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes from the gastrointestinal tract to the brain. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from George Washington University and worked in the lab of Dr. Ioannis Eleftherianos studying the differential immune response of fruitflies to insect-specific and opportunistic human pathogens. She then worked as a technician for 2 years at Stanford University in the lab of Dr. David Schneider studying the impact of genetic diversity on host responses to malaria in mice. She is originally French and moved to America for college. In her free time she is an avid hiker, camper, skier and she also practices karate. ​
