Vaibhav Sharma is a fourth year physics PhD student at Cornell University. His research is in theoretical physics, studying ultracold quantum matter with Professor Erich Mueller. He is interested in using calculations to understand novel physical phenomena that occur when many atoms interact in non-equilibrium situations. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Delhi Technological University in India before transitioning into physics by getting a physics master's degree from IIT Bombay, India. He is passionate about mentoring students who wish to pursue a career in physics. Outside of physics, he likes to play tennis, go hiking and boating.
