Taissa started her higher education in Reno, at Truckee Meadows Community College and finished her Bachelor’s in Psychology in May 2017, at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate in the Cognitive Brain Sciences Program at UNR, under the direction of Dr. Gideon P. Caplovitz. Her research focus is in the field of Attention, more specifically how humans perceive objects. As an undergraduate, Taissa worked as an ESL writing tutor. As a graduate, she is active in Neuroscience outreach at local schools and venues, and serves as a Neuroscience Mentor for Frontier’s for Young Minds Journal. Likewise, she is active on campus, in her role as a Representative of College of Science in the Graduate Student Association. She loves reading, music, dance, travel and most of all, her work. ​
