Su Jin Kim is a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins University Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. She is interested in memory formation and memory updating in sensorimotor systems, and engineering more ethological tools for neuroscience. Previously, she obtained her B.A. in Biology from Boston University, where she studied how red-eyed tree frog embryos hatch in response to snake attack. After receiving her B.A., she spent three years conducting various independent research projects, including developing a high-precision connector for longitudinal research projects, and piloting methods for artificial touch with optogenetics. She is a first-generation college student and passionate about outreach, particularly regarding engineering.
