Sophia is a Doctoral Student in Seton Hall University’s Counseling Psychology PhD Program. Prior to SHU, she earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology and Master’s in International Relations from New York University, where she studied in Florence, Berlin, Shanghai, The Netherlands and Croatia, conducted research in Tel Aviv and Prague, and was a U.S. Fulbright Student Fellow to Taiwan. She is passionate about broadening access to higher education for underserved populations and conducting research related to language, well-being, and identity, particularly with marginalized and diasporic communities. Sophia was a Project SHORT mentee and as a first-generation student herself, is excited to mentor and empower students to apply to graduate school!
