Sonia is a first-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at Yale University. After receiving her B.S. in Psychology from Yale in 2019, she spent two years as a research assistant at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she studied threat learning and avoidance in youth. Sonia is interested in investigating cognitive and affective processes underlying why some individuals have difficulty learning from consequences. She is particularly grateful to her mentors who guided and encouraged her through the PhD application process, and is happy to provide this support to others. Outside of research, Sonia enjoys painting, running, and tending to her foodstagram.
