Sedona is a second year student in the Neurosciences PhD program at Stanford University. She received a BS in Biochemistry and Neurobiology from the University of Washington. Her research interests over the years have included the genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, the gut microbiome, and hunger and other homeostasis-guided behaviors. For her doctoral studies, she is interested in investigating modulation of mood-related neural circuits (in particular by minimally invasive or noninvasive approaches) for understanding and treating psychiatric illness. When she isn’t doing research, you might find Sedona playing guitar, drawing, painting, hiking, running, cycling, or reading.
