Neuroscience

She/her/hers

Sarah is a first-year PhD student in UCSF’s Neuroscience Program interested in the interplay of the immune system and glial cells in health and disease. She earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) where she developed an interest in molecular neuroscience. After graduation, she worked for two years at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard studying neuroimmune interactions in neurodegeneration before applying for graduate school in Fall 2019. Sarah is devoted to increasing access to STEM for students across the country and hopes to demystify the graduate school application process for her mentees. She looks forward to meeting you!
