Sarah is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Rhode Island where she uses molecular biology to study how single celled marine plants respond to changing ocean conditions. Sarah earned a B.A. in Biology in 2011 from Western Washington University and subsequently received a PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of San Diego California in 2018. In addition to her enthusiasm for marine research Sarah is also passionate about teaching and enjoys working with and mentoring undergraduate students. When she’s not writing code or at the lab bench, Sarah enjoys rock climbing, yoga and reading science fiction.
