Sanim is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Program of Molecular Biophysics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is interested in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of transcription regulation by ubiquitination through experimental and theoretical methods. Sanim received his B.S. in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Florida. At South Florida, he developed and applied computational methods to understand the role of methylation in protein-protein interactions. After graduating, Sanim spent the summer training in theoretical biophysics at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute as a GSOAR fellow. Sanim is a strong advocate of undergraduate research. At South Florida, he started an organization to build an interdisciplinary community of undergraduate researchers and co-founded an undergraduate research conference. Outside of his research, Sanim likes to read, code, listen to music, and tagging his friends in an obnoxious number of memes.
