Sandy understands the stress and the struggles in applying to graduate school first-hand. They want to help you learn transferable skills to not only help you succeed in applying but thrive as a graduate student. They can give better guidance in applying to decision-making, social cognitive neuroscience, computational cognitive labs. They grew up in Thailand and they are a first-generation scientist in their family. They can also give personal guidance to international students and students in minority groups (women, LQBTQIA+, students with disabilities). Sandy is interested in learning about learning and decision-making from different perspectives ranging from Computer Science, Economics, Psychology, and Neuroscience. They are currently learning about the cognitive control and reinforcement learning mechanisms of value-based strategic decision-making. They are a Cognitive Science PhD student at the University of California Berkeley. Prior to grad school, they were a full-time research technician at Caltech. Previously, they obtained a BS in Math with minors in Symbolic Systems and Cognitive Psychology from Arizona State University. In their free time, they enjoy volunteering for educational causes, yoga, and watching YouTube videos. According to YouTube's Algorithms, they are interested in Comedy, Machine Learning, Quantum Mechanics, Number, Universe, and Kitchen Knives in that order :)
