Samuelle Delcy (Sammie) was born and raised in Haiti and moved to the US at 13 to finish her schooling. She then attended and graduated from Brooklyn College in 2021 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. Sammie was a MARC student in college and began her research journey focusing on developing treatments and preventative measures, such as cognitive assessments, for schizophrenia and schizotypal traits. She then transitioned into the Pharmacology Graduate Group at UPENN and now works on treatments and preventative measures for traumatic brain injuries. One of Sammie’s main goal is to provide support to students and guide them as they transition into graduate school. She believes having a good mentor is one of the most important tools in getting through graduate schools and hopes to become a mentor to as many students as she can.
