Sammy Plezia (she/her) is a counseling psychology PhD student at the University of Oregon. Her research primarily focuses on maladaptive eating habits, body image concerns, and global mental health. Prior to graduate school, Sammy attended Brown University and graduated with degrees in public health and Hispanic studies. She was also a Fulbright-Nehru research fellow at Sangath's Addictions and related Research Group (Goa, India), where she led several projects exploring youth mental health. Outside of research, Sammy enjoys teaching indoor cycling classes, trying new vegan foods, and talking about her beloved beagle, Finn, every chance possible.
