​Rina is a PhD student in the Immunology program at University of Pennsylvania. She graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Afterwards, she spent two years as a National Institutes of Health CRTA. She is deeply passionate about understanding immune evasion mechanisms of cancer and currently studies the role of myeloid cells to the tumor microenvironment for identification of targets for cancer immunotherapy. In her free time, she enjoys working out, playing music, exploring restaurants, and chilling with friends. She attributes her success to her phenomenal mentors and is excited to pay it forward to make research careers accessible to everyone.
