Rick is a neuroscience PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis. He uses PET and fMRI to study the mechanisms behind rapid antidepressants such as psilocybin and ketamine. Originally from St. Augustine, Florida, Rick received his bachelor's from the University of Miami where he majored in computer science and psychology. There his research focused on using fMRI, geolocation tracking, and ecological momentary assessment to investigate how real-world exploration and novelty seeking impact affective dynamics and the brain. Outside of research, Rick enjoys freestyle dancing, basketball, and exploring new restaurants.
