Rebecca Nguyen is a doctoral student in the Human Services Psychology department at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). As a dual track student, she studies both clinical psychology and behavioral medicine. Her research focuses on familial trauma which includes: the intergenerational transmission of trauma, how PTSD and other trauma related disorders impact romantic relationships and parent-child relationships, adverse childhood experiences, and how intersectional identities and social resources impact risk and resilience factors for trauma related psychopathology. Before coming to UMBC, Rebecca completed her B.S. in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience at the University of Richmond and a Pre-Clinical Psychology post-baccalaureate certificate at Northwestern University. As a first generation college student, Rebecca is very passionate about individual mentorship and supporting students from diverse backgrounds. In her free time she enjoys reading, experimenting with Asian fusion cooking, hiking, and watching dramatic dating shows.
