Rahanna is a PhD candidate at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Division of Environmental Medicine. She completed an MS degree in Toxicology at St. John’s University studying the effects of acute lead poisoning on primary microglia. After graduate school she worked as a postgraduate research associate evaluating the roles of helper and killer T cells in discoid lupus. Her current work at NYU focuses on polybrominated diphenyl ether exposures in preterm infants and related neurodevelopmental consequences. She is excited to share her experiences in academia to help future graduate students.
