Pamela Tran is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies for the Cell Biology and Anatomy Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). She grew up in Montreal where she obtained her PhD at McGill University. She then did her postdoctoral training in Boston at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. At KUMC, her lab investigates how dysfunction of the primary cilium, an antenna-like cellular organelle, is involved in multiple diseases, including polycystic kidney disease, obesity, and cleft palate. She is passionate about training and increasing diversity in our next generation of scientists.
