Paige Miranda is a PhD student in Neural Science at New York University. Currently, she is studying how the growth factor TGFβ may be a molecular time-keeper that enables long term memory formation, using the sea slug Aplysia californica as her animal model. She her B.A. at Wellesley College in 2014 in neuroscience and worked post-grad at Yale University for three years studying how mitochondria critically fuel memory formation with ATP. Outside of the lab Paige can be found DJ-ing her weekly radio show slugbeat on WNYU FM radio, exploring the latest modern art museum exhibits, and playing with her rescue pitbull Luna.
