Naomi is a Computational Biology PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis studying the human gut microbiota's role in asthma. She went to SUNY Geneseo for undergraduate studies in biochemistry where she became fascinated with molecular biology and computational modeling. Although she never thought she would land in a microbiology/immunology-focused lab, she is enjoying the challenge of integrating various omics data to analyze host phenotypes and diving into the deep waters of microbial ecology. Things that keep her afloat in grad school these days include playing marimba and piano, making meals with friends, and biking in Forest Park.
