Nadia Floyd is a proud bicultural - with paternal roots in the American South and Ayisenne ancestry via her mother. As a first year social psych PhD student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Nadia has two primary interests. What are the cues that increase WOC's academic belonging, and interest in pursuing a higher academia? And, how do phenotypical features and certain behaviors influence WOC's perceptions of identity safety? As a former undergrad at a Hispanic serving institution, Nadia values mentorship and seeks to break the mold of what it stereotypically means to be an "academic” in and outside of the academic space. She also loves to travel, try new cuisines and is an avid member of the Beyhive.
