Muskan Khetan has completed her bachelor's in Biotechnology and master's in Clinical Engineering (specialization in Biomedical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (Tamil Nadu). During her bachelor’s, she gained life sciences and wet lab expertise and during her master's, she delved into cognitive neuroscience research using MRI. Muskan has also worked as a research assistant at the National Institute of Mental Health And Neurosciences Bengaluru (India) for a year which helped her to understand the basic concepts in the field and develop a passion for research. Currently, she is a PhD student in the Psychology department at the University of Melbourne under the co-guidance of Dr Sarah Whittle and Dr Nandi Vijayakumar. Her project is to understand the role of pubertal hormones in the fear-learning mechanism and how it varies across the developmental stage (from childhood to adulthood). The team mainly wants to understand the prevalence of anxiety and other mental health disorders among females, especially during adolescence. Outside the lab, she is interested in reading, yoga, and exploring new places.
