Michael is a PhD candidate in the Neuroscience program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He works in the laboratory of Dr. Hirofumi Morishita, where he investigates social behavior and the effects of social experience on the development of the prefrontal cortex. Before coming to Mount Sinai, Michael obtained a BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology and Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed a post-baccalaureate research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health. Michael believes that strong mentorship is key to success as a scientist and wants to help ensure that every young scientist has the resources they need to flourish.
