Mia is a PhD student in Genetics and Genomics at Duke University. She received her B.A in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry and Spanish from Colby College. After graduating, she worked as a research technician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she investigated how human genetic variants affect cholesterol uptake and efflux. As a graduate student, she aims to combine her experimental and computational experience to advance genome editing screening for human disease. Outside of lab, she enjoys DIYing, dancing, and knitting.
