Megan is a second-year PhD student in Genetics at UW-Madison. She received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2023 from Michigan Technological University. She completed two years of undergraduate research at Michigan Tech studying the mechanisms of the DRM complex in the soma-to-germ cell transition in C. elegans. Megan currently works in a lab studying cis-regulatory elements, or enhancers, in the context of zebrafish cardiac regeneration. She is interested in increasing diversity in STEM and is participating in other scientific outreach programs.
