Markus is an Immunology PhD Student at Stanford University, where he is a member of the Satpathy and Curtis labs. He has lived in Sweden, Iceland, Maine, upstate New York, and Chicago. He majored in Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, and started his PhD in 2020. His current research interests revolve around T cell activation in the context of cancer, as well as investigating interactions between immune cells in cancer. In his free time, he likes to hike, bike, and run around the San Francisco Bay Area.
