Mariana Rodrigues is a Ph.D. student in Public Health at New York University. Mariana received her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. Before beginning her doctoral studies, Mariana worked as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Brazil and as a Research Associate in the Attachment and Health Disparities Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Cook. Her primary research interest lies in understanding how structural, community, and interpersonal factors impact the health and well-being of individuals at the intersection of multiple minoritized identities. Mariana is particularly focused on exploring the protective factors, such as perceived social support and community connectedness that can mitigate violence-related impacts. Overall, Mariana is passionate about conducting research that informs the development of culturally sensitive prevention and intervention efforts for marginalized communities exposed to violence while leveraging insights from Clinical Psychology and Public Health.
