Lydia Rader is a predoctoral trainee at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is a pursuing a dual Ph.D. in Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics & Neuroscience in the Psychology & Neuroscience department. Prior to beginning her doctoral program, Lydia attained her Msc from King’s College London focusing on Behavioral Genetics where she researched mental and physical health in a Sri Lankan twin sample. Before graduate school, she received her B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Lydia’s research interests are using genetic and neuroimaging methods to better understand the risks that underly pain and its overlaps with brain structure, substance use, psychopathology, and cognitive functioning. Lydia is a passionate about mentorship and is happy to discuss graduate school applications, funding, goal setting, or anything that will help in the process of applying to graduate school.
