Lily is a first-year PhD student in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. During undergrad at CSU Los Angeles, she studied biochemistry and worked in labs researching educational psychology and plant biology. The summer before her senior year, she did an NSF REU at Washington State University studying plant biology that solidified her interest in scientific research. After graduating, she spent two years at the NIH in the Postbaccalaureate IRTA/CRTA program doing research on chaperone proteins to gain experience closer to her interests. Now at Berkeley, she is able to pursue her interests in molecular and cellular neuroscience. Outside of lab, Lily does ballet, watches a lot of TV/movies, and takes photos on film.
