Leslie is a first year PhD student in the Neurobiology program at Duke University. Leslie graduated in 2022 as a neurobiology major from the University of California, Irvine. During undergrad, Leslie worked on studying astrocytes in Alzheimer’s disease and Down syndrome. Now at Duke she is broadly interested in glia interactions, neuroimmunology, epigenetic mechanisms, neurodevelopment/degeneration, and mitochondrial driven mechanisms in disease. She’s also passionate about helping others through their process towards grad school and is happy to help with any concerns! Outside of lab, Leslie likes to paint, cook, visit art museums, and explore the outdoors.
