Lauren cares deeply about conducting useful, ethical research and communicating effectively about it to address health inequities. As a PhD student at Oxford and the National Institutes of Health with previous training in public health, she uses methods in clinical and genetic epidemiology to understand genetic and non-genetic factors associated with birth weight and diabetes across generations. Committed to health and educational equity, Lauren co-organizes Global Diabetes Journal Club, a platform that enables researchers, health care providers and the public come together to discuss research and resources relating to diabetes and metabolism.
