Kevin Torres is a first year Chemistry PhD student of NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science with a research interest in colloids within the area of material science. He served five years as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant. Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a B.S in Forensic Science and a concentration in Toxicology. While attending John Jay he was awarded the T-Mobile Undergraduate Veteran Award, Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher and the Alexander Joseph Memorial Award. Kevin also participated in the Program for Research Initiatives in Science and Math (PRISM) and engaged in Research Experience for Undergraduates at Stony Brook University. Outside of research, Kevin likes to spend time with his dogs Obi and Milo and travel.
