Kayden holds bachelor's degrees in psychology and in human development from Binghamton University and is currently a developmental psychology Ph.D. student at the University of Virginia. After graduating from undergrad, he spent a year as a laboratory manager studying visual development in young children. At UVA, Kayden works with Dr. Vikram Jaswal and studies autistic social interaction and perceptions of autistic people. He also works with Dr. Tanya Evans to study live dyadic interactions using EEG hyperscanning. As a gay, autistic man, Kayden works to increase access for other disabled students at his undergrad & graduate institutions in addition to being active with local LGBTQ+ organizations. He aims to continue advocacy in these areas and to bring the queer and disability communities closer together. Outside of research and advocacy, Kayden enjoys video games, bouldering, horseback riding, and musicals.
