Karina is a Developmental Psychology PhD student and Institute of Education Sciences (IES) fellow at the University of Chicago. She began grad school a few months after graduating from the University of Chicago in 2021 with a B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Psychology. Her research focuses on the intersection of cognitive development and STEM education, with a particular emphasis on how children’s mathematical thinking can inform teaching interventions that promote learning. In her free time, Karina enjoys baking, playing volleyball, and exploring museums.
