Kaleigh is a 2nd year PhD student in the Department of Infectious Disease and Microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Public Health. Her project aims to further describe the neuropathogenesis and neuroimmunology of Rift Valley Fever Virus using animal and ex vivo models. She received an MS in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases from the George Washington University, School of Public Health in 2018. Her previous research experience includes characterizing the immune environment of the female reproductive tract and the associated HIV risk, and biomarker assessment related to HPV-associated cancer progression. Outside of lab, you can find Kaleigh exploring Pittsburgh’s greenspaces, reading, playing video games, or bothering her cat, Tiny Lady.
